Paul being the Pacific Raceways<\/em> Sportsman Track Champion for 2011 is currently on his way to Firebird Raceways<\/a><\/em> in Boise, Idaho for the team finals being held from September 1st – 4th.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chris is going as Paul’s crew chief and Barry and Kirk Hobson are providing the towing vehicle to get them there. <\/strong><\/p>\n

4:00 PM PDT: They all made it to the track safely and are currently going through Tech Inspection. Current density\u00a0altitude is 5250 feet.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

4:45 PM PDT:\u00a0Paul made it through Tech Inspection and will get one time run tomorrow morning and then enter the Gambler Race. \u00a0Now it’s time to settle in to their hotel and get some dinner!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Friday,\u00a02 September 2011<\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n

8:00 AM PDT: Paul’s in the staging lanes ready to make his first time run!\u00a0 I’m curious to see what the Pontiac runs at the higher altitude. <\/strong><\/p>\n

8:17 AM PDT: The Pontiac ran well recording\u00a0a 12.78 @ 105.58 MPH at a density atitude of\u00a04083 feet. His next run will be in the 1st round of the Gambler<\/em> race in the non-electronics category.<\/strong><\/p>\n

12:22 PM PDT: In the 1st round of the Gambler<\/em> race, as the temperatures and density altitude were rising, Paul won<\/span> running a 12.935 @ 101.13 MPH on the brakes<\/span>. He cut an excellent .018 light.\u00a0Density altitude was 4779 feet. <\/strong><\/p>\n

3:31 PM\u00a0PDT:\u00a0Paul just\u00a0won<\/span> the 2nd round, running a 12.913\u00a0on a 12.91 dial-in on the brakes<\/span>\u00a0at only 100.37 MPH! Density altitude was 4766 feet.\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

4:41 PM PDT: Just called to the lanes for the 3rd round with a 12.89 dial-in.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

4:52 PM PDT: Paul just won<\/span> the 3rd round running a 12.884 on a 12.89 dial at 104.17 MPH.\u00a0Density altitude was 4696 feet. <\/strong><\/p>\n

5:41 PM PDT: Paul just won<\/span> the 4th round running a 12.872 on a 12.87 dial-in at 104.22 MPH. Density altitude was 4531 feet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

6:10 PM PDT: Paul just won<\/span> the 5th round on a double breakout running a 12.854 on a 12.86 dial-in at 104.28 MPH. Density altitude was 4524 feet.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

6:40 PM PDT: Paul left a bit early (-.009)\u00a0turning the tree red<\/span> and ran a 12.856 on a 12.84 dial-in at 104.60 MPH. Density altitude was 4394 feet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

8:20 AM PDT:\u00a01st time run of the day, Paul ran a 12.758 at 105.77 MPH. Density altitude was 3812 feet.<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

10:36 AM PDT:\u00a0Paul’s off to a great start, winning<\/span> the first round of the Race of Champions<\/em>\u00a0in Sportsman<\/em> running a 12.800 on a 12.76 dial-in lifting off the throttle at 104.60 MPH. Density altitude was 4106 feet.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

2:41 PM PDT: Paul just won<\/span> the 2nd round in a double breakout run recording a 12.845 on a 12.91 dial-in\u00a0at 104.80 MPH. Density altitude was 5000 feet.\u00a0\u00a0Paul’s competition ran .15 under, Paul was .065 under his dial. We got lucky\u00a0here<\/span>!<\/strong><\/p>\n

4:03 PM PDT: Paul just won<\/span> the\u00a03rd round hard on the brakes\u00a0running a 12.903 on a 12.86 dial-in at only 97.33 MPH.\u00a0Density altitude was 4770.<\/strong><\/p>\n

5:06 PM PDT: Paul just cut a .006 light and ran a 12.822 on a 12.81 dial-in to take the win at 104.65 MPH<\/span><\/span>. Density altitude was 4508 feet. Next round is the semi-finals!<\/strong><\/p>\n

5:41 PM PDT:\u00a0Paul lost<\/span> in the semi-final round\u00a0when he went\u00a0just a tad too\u00a0quick running a 12.808 on a 12.81 dial-in.\u00a0at 105.11 MPH losing to Mark Faul. Density altitude was 4449 feet. [Mark Faul went on\u00a0to win today in Sportsman].\u00a0

8:08 AM<\/span><\/span>\u00a0PDT: Paul just won<\/span> the 1st round with a 12.748 on a 12.71 dial-in at 104.39 MPH with a .024 light. Density altitude was 3811 feet.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

11:32 AM PDT:\u00a0Paul just won<\/span>\u00a0in the 2nd round running a 12.840\u00a0on a 12.81 dial-in, on the brakes at only 100.85 MPH. He cut a outstanding .017 light! Density altitude was 4581 feet.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

12:27 PM PDT: Paul just lost<\/span> in the 3rd round running a 12.840 on a 12.83 dial-in lifting at 104.68 MPH.
