Barry started in bracket racing in what is now\u00a0called Sportsman bracket with various models of Pontiac’s including a big Grand Prix, and his racing has evolved over the years to rise to the ranks of Top Sportsman and the 10.5 class running his Grand Am with a normally aspirated 705 Sonny Leonard power\u00a0that has pushed the car into the high 6-second range.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Barry is a mix of old school\u00a0& state-of-the-art racing. He\u00a0can be seen at the local tracks running his blue ’67 Pontiac Tempest in Super Pro, his Grand Am in Top Sportsman, and his\u00a0big-block powered dragster in Top Dragster or Super Comp (8.90 index). \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Along his long road in drag racing, Barry has never lost his passion for the sport or forgotten his friends. Barry just won the 3rd round with a 7.013\u00a0@\u00a0180.74 on a 7.03 dial. He has earned a single in the semi-finals!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Semi-final<\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Barry just ran his personal quickest\u00a0in\u00a0his Grand Am on the single, with a 6.973\u00a0@ 195.87 mph.\u00a0 On to the final round where he will be facing Craig Anderson’s\u00a02012 Cobalt for the Top Sportsman<\/em> title! Anderson is from Waxahachie, Texas.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Chris just reported that Barry won<\/span>, earning a Wally!! Barry won handedly running a\u00a07.024\u00a0at only 176.05 mph on a 6.97 dial, lifting, having a huge holeshot advantage with a .044 reaction time to Anderson’s .301 reaction time. Anderson did run a 7.148 @ 193.18\u00a0mph on a 7.14 dial. <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

SUPER COMP UPDATE<\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Barry went down in the 1st round running a 8.899 on the 8.90 dial in his dragster. Excellent\u00a0effort however and so close to perfection!<\/strong><\/p>\n
