They pulled the 5-speed out of the &#8217;57 for required maintenance, we tested the PacAloy 1.625&#8243; valve springs (haven&#8217;t lost any pressure!) 295-305 lbs on the seats, took 120# out of the clutch (base pressure) and a few other items on our check list for the &#8217;57. Go thru the gearbox and the &#8217;57 will be set to go for 2017!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I&#8217;ll provide additional updates here when I get the 5-speed torn apart. &#8211; <em>Roger<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Update July 26, 2016<\/span>:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>I got the transmission tore down, needs one new 3-4 slider and will also replace the 1-2 slider while it&#8217;s apart, and I&#8217;ll be sending 3rd &amp; 4th gears out to have the pro-shift rings replaced by <em>Liberty<\/em>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1st gear cluster gear (one that had a chip) is showing some hairline fractures so I&#8217;ve ordered a new 17-tooth cryo gear from <em>Liberty<\/em> to replace it before it fails. The mating 38-tooth 1st gear seldom fractures unless you run a broken cluster gear through it. &#8211; <em>Roger<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Update August 3, 2016<\/span>:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>I&#8217;ve installed the new <em>Liberty<\/em> 17-tooth cryo cluster gear for 1st and I&#8217;ve cleaned up the shift ring on 2nd and installed the new 1-2 slider.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Today Pam got 3rd &amp; 4th gears shipped to <em>Liberty<\/em> to have the shift rings replaced.
