The picture of the helicopter in camouflage, I think is my helicopter #742 that I picked up at the factory. Col. Sinclair wanted to have one of our ships painted in those colors to judge the effectiveness. The Air Force completed the painting for a case of steaks.

Chuck Oualline, Spur 3 writes:

"Here are a few of the old slides I am converting to DVD. Four of them, 29 through 32, show A Troop off-loading from the Walker to go ashore in a landing craft at Vung Tau. Bill Barber is clearly visible in foreground of 30 & 32 with helmet off. In 32 we are underway.

"Bob Harrison says that in No. 32 he can ID himself, Billy Miller, Rhodehamel, Jim Higgins, Montana, & Marlock. With his help, I now can pick out some of these."

"What memories. I got up on the raised portion in the aft part of the landing craft to snap this as we moved ashore."

"#36 picture at Soui Da, left to right, CPT Bob Holt, our maintenance officer; an unknown head; MAJ Bob Witcher, then the XO; MAJ Nathan Pulliam, CDR; my ops sergeant seated atop our bunker with cup of coffee is SFC Charles Beckman, another unknown; and CPT Larry Gillespie."

"Two photos at Long Binh, 70 & 79, show SSG Wooten seated on ground in center cleaning weapons, probably with his squad members."
