Newsletter comment:  Why is it that others, including high level officials in the Obama administration, wish to condemn Arizona for attempting to enforce Federal immigration laws?

Frankly, I’ve reviewed Arizona’s Sen. Bill 1070 and x-ref’d the citations for 8 U.S. Code and Title II Chap 7 of the Federal Immigration and Nationality Act. It is my personal opinion that the Arizona State Legislature is well within its rights (and responsibilities to its citizens) to pass and implement this legislation. I could not find any conflict with federal law or the U.S. Constitution, with the language in Sen. Bill 1070. In fact, it is my personal opinion that Sen. Bill 1070 is attempting to force the U.S. federal government to enforce the Fed’s immigration laws at long last. I find no racial profiling in Sen. Bill 1070– if you doubt me, then READ it! Having lived in a southern border state myself for 22 years, I certainly understand a great many of the issues that my fellow Americans in Arizona have had to endure. And face it, our federal government has been woefully derelict in its responsibilities to protect and secure our borders! I am also appalled and ashamed of Congress, the current Administration and other Americans (including my own state) in their malicious attempts to malign, denigrate and castigate the good people of Arizona! I find the motives of the individuals behind these deplorable actions against Arizona very suspect. Given the lackluster job performance by many a politician on both sides of the aisle (state and federal legislative bodies), it is not too far fetched to conclude that a very real motive by the political base is to garner the votes of minority voters–what better way to garner the Latino vote than to scream racial profiling. And let’s not forget the motives by corporate America to be more concerned about the bottom line by having cheap labor provided by illegal immigrants over putting unemployed, hardworking Americans back to work.

And for the good people of Arizona, be steadfast and true to your beliefs. We could all learn something from your integrity!

It really rankled me watching many in Congress stand and applaud Calderon condemning the Arizona legislation. Look at Mexico’s immigration policy and see if you would be welcomed there as an illegal entry.

For our own Congress to take the side of a foreign President over the majority opinion of U.S. citizens – well – it seems all is upside down. Congress no longer represents the majority of U.S. citizens.

Ref. “Obama Pushes for National Standard on Immigration, Urges GOP to Back Overhaul” above, why is it so tough for our President to enforce existing immigration laws and reinforce our borders?

Isn’t that the PRIMARY duty of the Federal Government, to protect U.S. citizens and our borders?

No “comprehensive” immigration reform until our borders are secure! Hell, as a U.S. citizen you must show a passport or enhanced driver’s license to get back into the States from Canada!!!!
