After some careful thought, I tend to lean towards the conclusions written by Paul Hollray, “The General and the Community Organizer.”

I’ve always felt that the strategy proposed by Obama and given to General McChrystal to implement would take at least 8-10 years. Yet Obama gave the General approximately 18-months from his appointment to command the troops in Afghanistan before an announced withdrawal date. That never made any sense to me!

Just pure speculation on my part, but I suspect the military is being setup for a fall like in Vietnam. Where a battle is not lost but victory never happens thanks to the decisions made on the civilian side of the equation. I hope I’m wrong!
