  1. Roger says:

I suspect a demand from NHRA prompted this, but that’s just speculation on my part.

All I know is I wasted time and money upgrading the ’57 Chev to race in May and now no racing until June. And how is paving to the 330 going to improve down force for the fuel cars? I thought their main complaint was from the 330 on?

  2. CHRIS YOUNG says:

Doesn’t make much sense to do this in the middle of the season unless they have to pave to keep the nationals .Could have done this at the end of last year i think! Frank Nelson said thay were going to go 700 foot with new.

    • Roger says:

700 feet would make more sense, because it was the transistion at 1/2 track that supposedly created the problems for the Fuel cars.

Frankly, racing to me anymore is becoming nothing but work and expense racing at PR. Time to retire the ’57 to Green’s.

  3. Jeff Warnke says:

we have been pacific racewaed again!

  4. Roger says:

Must be the big payback to all the local drag racers that supported their expansion plans with the King County Council? Why wasn’t this done last fall in September or October? Why now after the 2012 season started?

  5. Roger says:

Just wondering – with all the NEGATIVE press PR has received over recent years concerning the track from those like Susan Wade of Competition Plus, when will we see something positive from the national drag racing press?

Here’s my prediction – with the new starting line the fuel cars will lean on it even harder on the initial hit and roast the hides at the 1/8th. That will give those like Susan more ammunition to gripe about!

  6. Roger says:

Twice this week I’ve asked Pacific Raceways for a progress report on the drag strip curious to know if drag racing will resume on June 2nd.

So far all I see is more posting regarding road course racing!

So, the next time PR asks for help writing letters to the King County Council in support of their expansion, or running into opposition from their neighbors, count me out in writing any additional letters of support for the track!

Here’s another issue – Those of you that were track champions last year, how’s that Gold Card working for you? Seems to me you are being short-changed!

Should have had it done right the first time. Now we have the story of Penhall to finish it Like it was planed. Not so! Put it in on the cheap and now Penhall has to save the day. Same as always, PR get’s back what it puts in – not much.
