Effective January 2014, NHRA will then require an approved secondary collector restraint for all headers that have removable collectors. Here is a snap-shot of the rule change:

Thanks for posting Dad. I bet there will be quite a few racers that will be bounced from tech due to this rule albeit it is a good one. There have been way too many incidents that pertained to the lack of secured straps.

I’ve ordered my kit for the old buggy, although I’ve only had one strap of four ever break loose over the years on my old headers. The 2nd strap prevented the collector from vacating the car, but many new headers only have one strap per side to retain the collector.
Got the kit by collector-cable.com installed today on the old ’57 headers. Mission accomplished!
