The family having fun at Pacific Raceways gearing up for the Wild West Nostalgia Race on July 12th & 13th. Torri set a new record for her Tempest this evening running a 12.137 at 108.84! Congratulations Torri !
In our personal “Beauty vs The Beast” match race, I left slightly on Torri but I broke out handing the well deserved win to “Beauty” but that’s ok, the ’57 had a personal best in those atmospheric conditions, so I’m very happy! Below is a short video recap shot by Paul Young:
UPDATE: Just checked the valve lash on the ’57, raised the left wheelie bar 1/2-turn and with a fresh set of plugs the old buggy is ready for the big nostalgia race! – Roger

About Roger
Driver of our '57 Chev from 1972-2019, Vietnam veteran (A Troop, 3/17th Air Cavalry Scout helicopter Line Chief and later Cobra Periodic Inspection team leader), retired ASE rated automotive mechanic. Roger became involved in drag racing during his high school days and after his stint in the Army ran E & F/MP [Modified Production] here in Division 6 before switching to bracket racing when the '57 became obsolete for class racing. He often raced at Puyallup, Kent-Pacific Raceways, Bremerton, Portland & the original Mission, B.C. track.
We’re very pleased on how the chassis is working in our ’57 heading into the nostalgia race. And the old engine is still producing good power producing personal bests on all three runs this evening in density altitudes we were running in. (2050 – 2545 feet).
