Break Time!

With our racing season over, I’ll be taking a break from this blog for awhile. We have much to do this off season, putting the 350 together and getting it in the ’57 over the winter and going through the Chevelle focusing on the transmission (again) and it would be a good time to look at the engine after 199 passes. Running three cars there is always things to do!

So, when we have some updates on our progress we’ll be posting them. Until then to your good health and safe travels! – Roger

Update 9/22/2014: I now have four of the piston-rod assemblies in the block and making progress. File fitting the rings takes the longest to accomplish but is where the power is. – Roger

Update 9/24/2015: All the rods & pistons are in the block. For more pictures and future updates please see Our 350 SBC Project. – Roger

One Response to Break Time!

  1. Roger says:

With the exception of the inconsistency of the Chevelle, which I BELIEVE is due to a transmission problem again, we’ve had a pretty solid season. Chris may take the 2015 season off to go through his transmissions and the engine which now has 199 hits.

Torri’s Pontiac Tempest has been running well this year. With the exception of replacing a axle seal and brakes, it has been trouble free.

With the ’57 breaking the transmission at the Wild West Nostalgia Race was certainly disappointing after qualifying in the top spot for Sunday, but Liberty Gears came to our rescue to provide the replacement parts. The chassis worked very well this year with the Hoosier slicks and responded very well to any changes we made in the chassis. We hope to continue that with the new 350 in 2015. We had a good approach with the ’57 this season and I truly enjoyed driving the car again. Hopefully we can continue in that vain.
