9/21/2014:
On this beautiful September day at Pacific Raceways, Torri wheeled her ’66 Tempest to a new mark for the car at 12.126 @ 109.11 MPH setting both ends of the record for her Pontiac with a 1.653 60-foot time.
Unfortunately on her last time run of the day the TH-350 transmission with an unknown amount of runs took out 2nd gear ending her day. – Roger

About Roger
Driver of our '57 Chev from 1972-2019, Vietnam veteran (A Troop, 3/17th Air Cavalry Scout helicopter Line Chief and later Cobra Periodic Inspection team leader), retired ASE rated automotive mechanic. Roger became involved in drag racing during his high school days and after his stint in the Army ran E & F/MP [Modified Production] here in Division 6 before switching to bracket racing when the '57 became obsolete for class racing. He often raced at Puyallup, Kent-Pacific Raceways, Bremerton, Portland & the original Mission, B.C. track.
It’s very unusual at the end of the season, the only car left standing and runnable for the moment is the ’57! But that will soon change when we pull the 327 before winter sets in!
Good job by Torri this weekend, it’s sad that the transmission broke prior to eliminations since she was driving well !
