Chris just got a new ride, and it’s NICE! A 2014 3500 HD Silverado with the 6.6L diesel Duramax engine with a ton of torque, Allison 6-speed transmission and all the bells and whistles! And he has cup holders EVERYWHERE! What are we going to do with a tow rig that has A/C, cruise control, Bose stereo, On-Star and much more! He purchased this at Burien Chevrolet where Pam and I purchased our 2013 Traverse last October. A friendly, solid dealership!
Driver of our '57 Chev from 1972-2019, Vietnam veteran (A Troop, 3/17th Air Cavalry Scout helicopter Line Chief and later Cobra Periodic Inspection team leader), retired ASE rated automotive mechanic. Roger became involved in drag racing during his high school days and after his stint in the Army ran E & F/MP [Modified Production] here in Division 6 before switching to bracket racing when the '57 became obsolete for class racing. He often raced at Puyallup, Kent-Pacific Raceways, Bremerton, Portland & the original Mission, B.C. track.
Yes it is. The ’75 has been a great tow rig but rust is taking a major toll on the cab. It’s time! We’re going to pull the engine and transmission which are still in excellent condition for a certain black Pontiac.
After September 2026, I will no longer be hosting our entire website. This includes military news, the Silver Spur sites, nor our racing pages. After 27-years it will be time to close it all down. Be well. – Roger

Chris used his new rig to tow the Chevelle out to Pacific Raceways this past weekend and it tows very well and gets good mileage!
