For 2013, Paul has teamed up with Ron West to run Ron’s ’68 Mustang targeted for Sportsman bracket.
The Mustang features a stout 351W engine running 2×4 Edelbrock carburetors:
The car is using a 8″ Ford rear with reportedly good pieces:
Reportedly the engine and transmission are now in the car and they are making good progress. They are using a built C4 transmission with a reverse valve body & shifter.
I’ll leave it up to Paul or Ron to add more details in the comment section. We wish them both the best in 2013! – Roger

It will be a very exciting 2013 season to say the least as it has been fun working with Ron on the weekends trying to get the car ready for the season and I feel honored that he asked me to drive for him this season. We are making good progress on the car and hope to have it out by the first race in May if all goes well. It will be a new challenge in driving a different car but I like challenges and it will also be fun in teaming up with Ron’s son Mac whom will also be racing Sportsman this year too as he is a very good up & coming driver.
Furthermore, I am looking forward to us kicking butt all the while you guys (Dad, Chris & Torri) do the same this year as the Pro & Sportsman classes are going to be very well represented by Edwards & Young Racing and Team West Racing.
I also wanted to mention that I truly do appreciate Torri & Chris giving me the opportunities the last couple of seasons in racing her car as it is has been in the winners circle 3 times in the last 2 years so very consistent and reliable to say the least. I am looking forward to when we have the motor freshened over the next year as the good ol’ 400 makes some good power for sure especially considering all of the street miles & passes made on the track.
Paul reports that the rearend blew up on the chassis dyno earlier this week.
UPDATE: July 16th 2013
Last night in the 4th round where Paul had a bye run, the engine experienced extensive valvetrain damage. Paul will be switching to Torri’s Pontiac for the remainder of the season.
