  1. Roger says:

One year we went as a family to watch the final day of racing at the Nationals at SIR. Glidden won the event over Warren Johnson.

After the race while waiting for the crowd to thin out – it took a LONG time to empty the facility in those days – we chatted with the Glidden family for a couple of hours and they treated our family as friends. We’ve never forgotten their kindness!

Conversely, when Chris & Paul approached WJ for an autograph, he was sitting on the steps of his trailer after his defeat in the final and absolutely refused to sign any autographs.

What a contrast in personalities! You will be missed Bob, you were a class act, a true champion and good for our sport. God bless the entire Glidden family.

  2. Christopher Young says:

I will never forget that day. The Glidden family was very nice and extremely approachable.

  3. Paul says:

Bob and his family were always so approachable and humble. He will be missed and I hope Billy can get an opportunity to do something in Pro Stock to honor his Dad.
