On Sunday, February 21, 2016, local longtime racer and friend, Ken O’Keefe lost his ’69 Chevelle when his garage with the car inside caught fire. Fortunately Ken, Sandi and their home are ok! Our hearts go out to Ken & Sandi:

Pacific Raceways – February 22, 2016:

This Saturday’s Winter Practice Tree race at Sportspage-Auburn [2/27/2016] will be a benefit for Ken Olite O’Keefe, who lost his garage and race car in a fire this past weekend. Bring lots of extra cash and let’s help out one of our racers! Practice begins at 4pm with the Main Event at 5pm!

About Roger

Driver of our '57 Chev from 1972-2019, Vietnam veteran (A Troop, 3/17th Air Cavalry Scout helicopter Line Chief and later Cobra Periodic Inspection team leader), retired ASE rated automotive mechanic. Roger became involved in drag racing during his high school days and after his stint in the Army ran E & F/MP [Modified Production] here in Division 6 before switching to bracket racing when the '57 became obsolete for class racing. He often raced at Puyallup, Kent-Pacific Raceways, Bremerton, Portland & the original Mission, B.C. track.

    Our hearts go out to Ken & Sandi and the loss of their beloved ’69 Chevelle. His car, just like our cars, has been a labor of love and nothing can replace it.
