Force: I’d Had Enough Of It Torco Racing Fuel’s Competition Plus.com – September 8, 2009

Personal Comment: Many people will blame Force or Tony for the comments that were made or think this is funny. I blame NHRA for allowing four-car teams in one Pro category and the concept of the Countdown which naturally led to this problem. And I believe NHRA is starting to love these rivalries as part of the “show” in the hopes of drawing more fans. Unless NHRA gets back to basics I believe we’re witnessing the decline of our sport – Roger Young.

Yes the sport is getting bad, I can agree there
Both reaction times were close together. Racers are usually close to each other in R/T , John and Robert were close to each others R/T
As to John spinning, Did you watch Top Fuel? The Top Fuel cars did almost a carbon copy of what John did.
So now after knowing the facts, Where is the proof he threw the race out?
Im not saying he did or didnt, Im saying look at the facts and it looks like he didnt throw the race out.
Looking at the race without knowing the facts looks like he did throw the race out
Please post the evidence where John Force threw the race. NHRA looked at the DATA and for the money they are running for, If he threw the race it would have been over turned so if you have evidence that shows otherwise please post it
    Facts,,,
    – Robert made his fastest runs out of the left lane
    – Ashley & John made their fastest pass in the right lane but in round 2 John almost lost in the left lane because he had to pedal it
    – Now round 3 comes up which is the semi-final against Robert so John takes the right lane which puts Robert in the left lane
    – Top Fuel runs before Funny Car
    – Both Top Fuel cars that ran in the semi-final (round 3) in the right lane did about the same thing John Force did
Now the thing that is fishy is the reaction time , Usually race cars are within .010″ to .040″ between each other in Reaction Times, Now Johns light was not much worse than Roberts light. If John did a .300 and Robert did a .010″ that shows it was set up , Now if John did a .300 and Robert did a .280 they are still in the split that almost all Reaction Times are
Now the Reaction Time splits between John and Robert are pretty normal so i dont think John tried doing a bad light
EDIT: By the way John Force alone has done more for the sport of Professional Drag Racing than NHRA has, If John did not do what he has done there may have been no fuel class cars now

By the way, The comments above were posted to someone saying John threw the race out, Not posted to Roger
I just thought i would share it but have typed it too many times today already

  3. Roger Young says:

    Butch,
I didn’t take your comments personally, I understood what you were saying and thanks for the feedback!
There is no proof that Force laid down on that pass, but it is highly suspect that the car took an IMMEDIATE right-hand turn at the hit of the throttle.
Like I said above in my initial posting on this subject, I blame the NHRA for creating this situation with the encouragement of multi-car teams in the same category, and the format of the Countdown.
One cannot blame a team owner for wanting all his cars in the Countdown as they answer to their sponsors.

  4. Paul Young says:

This was all brought on by NHRA and they know it! If you were paying attention to Graham Light he even mentioned that rivalries are good for the sport but obviously without the physicalities of it. If I was in the same situation as Force, I would have no problem laying down for my teammates whether he did so on purpose or not only a few really know. I think the biggest red flag was that Force cut a .200 light to Hights .140 as that is way out of the norm but whatever, it is what it is. The bottom line is it is a business and you have to run it like a business and that is what Force did. I think T-Ped is a big baby and a ungrateful one too since he was with Force for 8 years, couldn’t have been too bad.

    Hey Roger, Chris & Paul
    Read this

Next week a $20,000.00 grudge race between Tony and John. This is getting real stupid real quick
Then Cruz comes up with this idea that sucks where him and Robert have a run off for #10 spot, Cruz already lost to John
If Cruz didnt loose to John he could have had to fight for himself, He lost to John and knew he was a sitting duck so he needs to stop, Tony too

  6. Roger Young says:

    Butch,
I agree, this grudge race matter is becoming real stupid, real quick.
Perhaps this is what NHRA wants? A circus atmosphere rather than professional racing as we have known it?
Would such a grudge race be considered “testing” which NHRA has forbidden?
I can hear another ruling coming down from NHRA as we speak! HAH!
As for a runoff race between Cruz/Robert for the 10th spot, that’s already been decided as you pointed out when Cruz lost to Force! Or is the countdown to the Countdown? Spare us!
After all this hype, you’ve got to wonder if this was all planned for promotional purposes?

  7. Butch says:

I wonder if it was planned out too, Its getting highlights for sure
Now they fined John $10,000.00 because he touched an NHRA official when he grabbed John
I think they should fine Tony for talking crap bringing it on, No man is gonna let someone run their mouth about them on TV and no one is gonna let them run their mouth about their daughter
The NHRA man went for John only, What NHRA man was trying to get Tony to stop running his mouth or stop him from pinning John into the mood he was in??
Maybe it was planned, Im starting to think so

  8. Butch says:

Now the people who are whining are people whom dont win any more and dont race any more
    Makes you wonder….
