About Roger

Driver of our '57 Chev from 1972-2019, Vietnam veteran (A Troop, 3/17th Air Cavalry Scout helicopter Line Chief and later Cobra Periodic Inspection team leader), retired ASE rated automotive mechanic. Roger became involved in drag racing during his high school days and after his stint in the Army ran E & F/MP [Modified Production] here in Division 6 before switching to bracket racing when the '57 became obsolete for class racing. He often raced at Puyallup, Kent-Pacific Raceways, Bremerton, Portland & the original Mission, B.C. track.

    When Pacific Raceways added the sand trap years back, Joe Loch took me down to the top end on his golf cart to see the new sand trap and the new turnout to the right prior to taking the ’57 down the track. I was certainly familiar with the track but was not familiar with the new sand trap or turn off and wanted to see it before making a run!

    would like to know more on drag strip info stopping distance after finish line spectator distance from running surface etc wouid like to visit tim mcamis shop maybe to learn from a great guy if possible please let me know if that can happen i live in trinidad been to many race tracks in usa presently have my own shop building race cars and engines mostly impress by seeing your videos on the internet please send a reply whatsoever the answer is thank you.
