I am looking forward to the ET Finals this year as I think the team this year will be more cohesive than in the past few years as we have all become a pretty tight nit group this past year. The one thing I truly love more than anything about racing is how most everyone will drop everything to help each other out in the time of need, reminds me of the good ol days when we were growing up watching Dad race with his friends at SIR & Bremerton. Go TEAM PACIFIC RACEWAYS!
Son, good luck to you and the entire team of Pacific Raceways at the ET Finals. This is your third year straight making the Race of Champions. You’ve been there before and know how to get it done!
Paul and Ron West are currently in Spokane. Chris will join them this evening and Justin during the weekend. Good luck guys!
Paul just won the 1st round of the Sportsman Gambler race today on the brakes! Keep it going son!
Paul called a few minutes back saying he won the 2nd round when his opponent went red. Paul ran a 12.81 on a 12.79. Great baseline run!
Paul just won the 3rd round of the Sportsman Gambler race. 12.81 on the brakes. Chris is now with him in Spokane.
Paul won the 4th round running a 12.71 on a 12.71. His competition was timed out when they failed to stage in time. KEEP IT GOING GUYS!! Great start at the ET Finals!
Paul just got a bye in the 5th round and going into the semi’s!!
Paul broke out in the semi’s, running a 12.67 on a 12.69 but will pick up some $’s for a good showing. Excellent job today and on to the Race of Champions tomorrow!
It’s Saturday featuring the “Race of Champions” starting at 1:00 pm today. Paul ran a 12.76 this morning on his qualifying hit. Good luck to all the participants and have a good time!
Paul is out early in the Race of Champions, losing in the 1st round running a 12.82 on a 12.80 facing a headwind.
More racing on Sunday!!
Today is the final day of the Division 6 ET Finals featuring a race that will establish which track team is top dog in our division this season. Of course we are rooting for the Pacific Raceways Pirates!
Paul ran a 12.86 on a 12.86 in the 1st round but turned the tree red. This ends his weekend of racing at the ET Finals. My thanks to Ron West, Chris Young & Justin Jung for traveling to Spokane to assist Paul this weekend. And a special thanks to PR Team Captain Jason Biscay that hauled the car to and from Spokane. Safe travels home this evening!
This was posted by Pacific Raceways on Sunday, September 1st, 2013:
“Congratulations to the Pacific Pirates for a great weekend at the Summit ET Finals in Spokane! The Mighty Jake Havens captured the Motorcycle crown on Sunday and Gordon Rust in his Chevelle was the runner-up in Sportsman! Two finalists in the four contested categories. What a fantastic weekend!”
We have one more points race to cover at Pacific Raceways for 2013 and hope that Paul can claim his 2nd track championship in Sportsman. His destiny is in his own hands.
I wish Paul the very best no matter wherever his future plans and aspirations take him. He’s achieved much these past three years.
