About Roger Young

Roger "Bear" Young served with the Silver Spurs as a Scout crew chief and Line Chief from Dec '69 through Nov '70. Upon his return to the "world" he served at Hunter AAF as a Cobra Periodic Inspection team leader. He founded the Spur website in Sept 1997.

  1. I personally don’t think they should change the names of bases just because they were confederates. I am from the North, but they were soldiers fighting for what they believed in whether it be tight or wrong

    When the military starts worrying about ‘woke’ BS like this, you know it is time to retire. No offense meant to those who are honored, but Rucker will always be Rucker to me.

      Same for me Terry, it seems to me the money spent to change the name of the bases could be used elsewhere to help our troops!!

    Well now i am from the South , but i don’t think the names should be changed . There is enuff nonsense going on already , this want i think.
