At 2:40 of the “This is freedom” video is one of Pam’s favorite pictures from Operation Homecoming. Pam was working on that very important Op to bring some of our POWs back from North Vietnam while serving in the Navy at CINCPAC.
Bear, I have to see that movie. Perhaps we need another 2 million people to march to the Capitol this time with arms and demand the Congress do what we demand or step down.
I watched this movie today which indeed inspired me to make this post. For me, it is not just about Christmas, but the fact that our rights and freedoms are being stripped away -- slowly but surely -- by many who speak about tolerance while having no tolerance for the very traditions, including religious freedom that our great country was founded upon.
I will no longer be silenced for fear of offending someone by stating “Merry Christmas” or submit to calling it a “winter holiday” or “holiday tree” or some such nonsense dictated by the PC crowd. The stores profit greatly off of Christmas but are afraid to refer to it as such.
Yes, in my opinion, we have indeed lost our direction!
I’m for them all stepping down!! We need patriotic citizens that truly want to represent their fellow citizens. Not those who pad their own wallets and pander to every special interest group.
The lead role of the veteran and town mayor is played by Marshall Teague. He is indeed a Vietnam veteran who served in the Navy. He has also done a lot of work for veterans over the years, especially regarding Agent Orange and is an avid hunter.
Thus the true passion in his eyes and voice when he gives his freedom speech from the roof top to his fellow citizens in the movie.
